Oct 29, 2022 · Worried, I looked at my invoice for the work that was done, and the wiring length is 23' of "#6 THWN-2 in flex metal conduit" and with my 50amp Siemens breaker and Tesla Wall Charger listed as customer provided. My understanding is that the Wall Charger pulls 48amps max. Is the fact I have a "only" 50 amp breaker installed bad?

Jan 19, 2022 · If you configured it in the wall connector again, that is a top maximum limit, and the car can't dial up above that. So you could set that to a 24A or 32A max. But in the car, (or the app, which is changing the car's setting), it is changing how much is being used out of the total.

Sep 9, 2020 · The fact that the Gen 3 can only do up to 48amps should tell you that regardless of the battery size for a tesla vehicle, tesla has no plans for their cars to be able to charge at a L2 charging speed faster than 48amps. "Can and should be able to charge at more than 48amps" will not apply to tesla Level 2 chargers.
