Alabama and Virginia Tech have found themselves in a weather delay ahead of the Tuscaloosa regional championship on Sunday.

This means the Crimson Tide will only have to win once today. Because Virginia Tech is coming out of the loser's bracket, the Hokies will have to beat Alabama twice. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Virginia Tech Hokies’ softball season is over. The Hokies entered Sunday’s Tuscaloosa Regional 2-1, with a pair of wins over Belmont and a loss to Alabama. To avoid elimination, the Hokies needed to defeat the Crimson Tide twice. Unfortunately, Tech’s bats got off to a slow start and, despite a late rally, fell short in a 3-2 loss.
