Rhode Island could soon ban the sale and display of farmed fur with a bill now being discussed by the General Assembly.

A Providence man will be in court Tuesday morning after he allegedly struck an officer with his car over the weekend, with the officer firing his weapon and striking the suspect in the abdomen.

Fire departments were called to Sayles Hill Road in North Smithfield around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a fire.
