The rainiest month of the year so far continued this week, with about an inch of rain falling. But a break is coming in time for Memorial Day weekend.
Rain is set to continue in the Northeast on Thursday as New York City, Boston and Buffalo can expect a washout as the late-season nor’easter moves north along the coast.
Rain could arrive in the Charlotte area by the start of the Coca Cola 600 in Concord on Sunday, but anything that falls should be light, a National Weather Service meteorologist said Friday. Ditto with Memorial Day in Charlotte, NWS forecaster Mike Rehnberg said. The NASCAR race begins at 6 p.m. Sunday.
