Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced he is deploying thousands of Texas National Guard soldiers and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers ahead of planned anti-ICE protests across the state this weekend.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says he ordered the deployment of more than 5,000 Texas National Guard troops across the state, along with more than 2,000 state police.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he would deploy the National Guard across parts of the state as protests against ICE raids have gripped Los Angeles and resulted in hundreds of arrests spread across the country.
