Ukraine on Friday handed the United States its proposals for a bilateral minerals deal after finishing working on them, two Ukrainian sources said, as Kyiv tries to win the backing of U.S. President Donald Trump in his bid to end the war with Russia.

The Trump administration has signalled Ukraine would have to give up territory to Russia and that NATO membership for Kyiv was “impractical”. The Kremlin seized on Trump’s remarks, saying that the situation in Ukraine “largely corresponds” with his words.
