Unlike seven years ago, the Philadelphia Eagles celebrated their Super Bowl victory at the White House with President Donald Trump on Monday – albeit with several notable absences, including star quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Seven years after his decision to skip a visit to the White House caused an uproar, former Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins praised current Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts for carrying the torch.

The Eagles didn't visit the White House after winning Super Bowl LII in February 2018. That victory came during Donald Trump's first term in office, and after several players made it clear they would be skipping the event if the Eagles went to the White House, Trump decided to rescind the team's invitation .
