Liverpool ’s 4-2 win over Bournemouth was marred by a fan of the former allegedly hurling racial abuse at Antoine Semenyo – and Merseyside Police have now confirmed that a man has been conditionally bailed after being arrested the day after the match.

Antoine Semenyo said the response to his report of racist abuse from a Liverpool fan showed football at its best.

Semenyo said he was fully supported by players on both sides and Liverpool FC following the incident.
