Over half a million people across Gaza are facing "catastrophic" conditions characterised by "starvation, destitution and death", the IPC says.

Parts of Gaza are officially experiencing a “man-made” famine, according to a Friday report by a United Nations-backed initiative, which added that the situation is expected to worsen after months of relentless conflict.

Famine has been declared in Gaza City for the first time by the international body responsible for monitoring world hunger.
