The project aims to create a 10-mile tunnel that would allow travelers to get from downtown Nashville to Nashville International Airport in about eight minutes.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee says the Nashville tunnels will come at “zero cost” to taxpayers, and will instead be “entirely privately funded” by The Boring Company and its partners. Once completed, the “Tesla in tunnels” system will ferry people from the airport to downtown in around eight minutes.

Construction of the 10-mile Music City Loop is expected to begin immediately after approvals, with the project potentially operational as soon as fall 2026.
