Brazil's government says that a young Brazilian hiker who had plunged hundreds of meters from the ridge of a towering Indonesian volcano and was trapped there for almost four days has been found dead.

Indonesian officials said it took rescuers at least five hours to retrieve Juliana Marins, the Brazilian tourist who fell down a ravine at Mount Rinjani on Lombok island.

Several tourists, including foreigners, have died in accidents while hiking Mount Rinjani over the past few years.
