FA Cup winners Crystal Palace have won the Community Shield for the first time after beating Liverpool 3-2 on penalties

Crystal Palace has won the Community Shield by beating Premier League champion Liverpool in a penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium.

Liverpool and Crystal Palace will "recommence" talks over a deal for Marc Guehi on Monday, according to BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel.

The unofficial 2025–26 season curtain-raiser takes place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, with Liverpool taking on Crystal Palace in the Community Shield.
