Over the past few years, South Carolina has experienced a teacher shortage. InformEdSC estimates that in the 2024-2025 school year, 12% of the state’s open teaching positions weren’t filled.

"At no time would the situation as described in these allegations from back in 2021 be acceptable in Fairfax County Public Schools," the district said.
