The Charlotte Fire Department is responding to a two-alarm fire Wednesday afternoon at International Paper, a paper-recycling business, on East 28th Street near North Tryon Street just outside Uptown Charlotte.

Firefighters are on the scene of a 2-alarm fire at a paper recycling company near uptown Charlotte. The call came out around 3pm Wednesday about a fire at International Paper on East 28th Street. Charlotte fire says there was smoke coming from the business when firefighters arrived.

Multiple agencies are on the scene of a two-alarm fire in northeast Charlotte. Charlotte Fire said it was responding to a fire in the 200 block of East 28th Street, which is just off North Tryon Street.
