Heavy rain battered Southern California on Thursday and made for dangerous conditions near burn scars from recent wildfires.

Mud and debris flows closed roads and prompted evacuations in parts of Southern California recently devastated by wildfires.

Thursday brought heavy rainfall throughout Kern County, however despite some rockslides in the canyon, major roadways including the 178 remain open Friday morning.
