Smart hotel software provider, IDS Next, has acquired India-based ShawMan Software, specialist provider of food and beverage, leisure and wellness cloud solutions for the hospitality industry.

Infrastructure software vendor Software AG said Monday it would launch a public takeover bid for IDS Scheer, a maker of BPM (business process management) software.

Software AG, Germany's No.2 software maker after SAP and No.4 in Europe, said it had already bought the 48 percent stake owned by IDS's founders August-Wilhelm Scheer and Alexander Pocsay.
