ESPN buys RedZone, NFL Media assets in billion-dollar deal (report)
NFL RedZone will reportedly have a new home. The NFL and ESPN have reached an agreement that will place many of the league’s top media holdings with the sports network in exchange for equity in ESPN that is potentially worth billions, according to a report from The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand.
The proposed move comes as ESPN is expected to soon launch its direct-to-consumer service, possibly before the end of August.
ESPN is expected to have access to RedZone, NFL Network and seven more regular-season games, among other assets.
