Sony has announced that it is raising the price of the PS5 in the US. The price increase of $50 affects all PS5 models and will come into effect from 21st August.
Sony has announced that it will increase the recommended retail price of the PlayStation 5 in the US. In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, the manufacturer stated that "a challenging economic environment" has led to the "difficult decision" of increasing the price of all PS5 consoles by $50.

Xbox and Nintendo also announced price increases for their respective consoles this year, with PlayStation's price increase starting Aug. 1.
