Top economic officials avoided a condemnation of U.S. tariffs but committed to trying to reduce “economic policy uncertainty.”

In what one expert describes as a strongly worded statement Thursday, G7 countries’ financial chiefs meeting in Banff pledged a united effort to step up their support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.

There's a sense of unity coming out of this week's summit with finance ministers and central bankers across the G7, Canada's finance minister said Thursday. The group gathered in Banff, Alta., less than a month ahead of the G7 leaders summit set for June in nearby Kananaskis.
