Flash flooding canceled the final day of the Wisconsin State Fair as continued heavy rainfall in half a dozen Midwest states has led to water rescues, power outages and road closures.

A severe flash flooding event has taken direct aim at parts of the Midwest this weekend, forcing the Wisconsin State Fair to cancel many of its events.

Wisconsin State Fair officials announced the cancellation of the fair's final day due to flash flooding at State Fair Park. The closure decision was made Sunday morning after flooding forced an early shutdown Saturday evening.
