The Preakness Stakes had a field of nine horses that raced in Baltimore for the 2025 running of the middle jewel of horse racing's Triple Crown.

Preakness Stakes is in the books after an incredible race between the nine horses entered this year. After a bit of a slow start and getting caught up in some traffic, Journalism came out on top with a wild break in the final stretch to catch and pass Gosger before reaching the finish line at Pimlico Race Course on Saturday.

And so that’s what Journalism did. Because of what happened next, and the way Journalism covered the final 50 yards of a race for the ages, this Preakness Stakes — the final one at the old Pimlico, before it is bulldozed as part of a long-needed renovation set to begin next month — will be remembered as one of the most remarkable of any of the 150 editions.
