Norgaard represents an alternative to Thomas Partey, whose contract runs out this summer, resigning with Arsenal

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Brentford captain Christian Norgaard. Standard Sport reported on Tuesday that a £9.3m bid for Norgaard had been submitted and it now appears Mikel Arteta has got his man with the BBC reporting that the midfielder is set to undergo a medical.

Christian Norgaard is not the glitziest signing Arsenal will make this summer. The Danish international has been reliable and workmanlike throughout his time at Brentford, but his unveiling - providing the transfer materialises - would not be met with the same excitement as that of fellow midfielder Martin Zubimendi or Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres.
