This weekend's cool temperatures and higher humidity are expected to give way to more Santa Anas and a new red flag warning Monday.

The Santa Ana Threat Index is forecasting a strong Santa Ana wind event Monday, Jan. 20 and Tuesday, Jan. 21 for areas in LA, Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties. Northeast to east winds of 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph will occur in Monday morning and then decrease through the day becoming local 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph after sunset,

Winds have died down in recent days, but another Santa Ana wind event is expected early next week. There are still air quality concerns, particularly closer to the burn areas.
