Vidarbha clinched the Ranji Trophy 2025 title after taking a crucial first innings lead against Kerala in the final at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.

Vidarbha emerged as the best team across all the four groups in the league stage with six wins in seven matches giving them 40 points.

Vidarbha, who won the title twice between 2017-19, are closing in on their third title in the 2024-25 edition over Kerala in the final in Nagpur.

Vidarbha captain Akshay Wadkar retired after leading his team to Ranji Trophy 2024-25 title. The final against Sachin Baby's Kerala ended in a draw but Vidarbha won the match on the basis of first innings lead.

Although Kerala finally managed to dismiss Karun Nair after he had piled on a fine 135, the lead continues to grow, exceeding 300 and making a Keralan win more and more unlikely.
