No Kings protests were held Saturday in nearly 2,000 places across the U.S. The protests were planned on the same day as the military parade in D.C.
The Houston demonstration is one of several planned in the region throughout the day and is expected to draw thousands of protesters.

The Capitol and Capitol grounds were evacuated around 1 p.m. "out of an abundance of caution," Texas DPS said.
