An $10 billion natural gas-powered data center to serve the surging demands of artificial intelligence is being planned for the site of a former coal-fired power plant in Pennsylvania.
The partners aim to convert the Homer City Generating Station, a decommissioned 2GW coal-burning power station near Homer City, Indiana County, Pennsylvania into a 4.5GW natural gas powered data center campus spanning more than 3,200 acres. The project has been dubbed The Homer City Energy Campus.
