Android XR is still in the early stages, but I got to try a prototype pair at Google I/O: Promising hardware and it should benefit from changing attitudes about smart glasses.

Google has dug back into its past and introduced its latest take on smart glasses during I/O 2025. Glasses with Android XR brings Gemini AI to smart glasses thanks to an expanded partnership between Google and Samsung.

The demo lasted just a few minutes, but it left a lasting impression and made me feel the real power of having an AI assistant like Gemini being there to help you with everyday functioning.
