Temperatures reach 33C as parts of England swelter in fourth summer heatwave
For some parts of England and Wales, today is the peak of this week's heat and the third day of temperatures reaching heatwave criteria, with some locations expected to reach 34C. Other parts of the UK will meet their heatwave thresholds on Wednesday although it will be a little cooler for some spots.
Amber heat alert as fourth summer heatwave pushes temperatures towards 34C
The fourth heatwave of the summer will continue on Wednesday with temperatures expected to climb to 34C in parts of England. An amber heat health alert remains in place for the West Midlands, East Midlands, South East, London, and East of England until 6pm after temperatures peaked at 33.4C on Tuesday.
A total of 18 counties in England are set to avoid the heatwave this week.
