Tropical Storm Dexter, the fourth named system of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, formed late Sunday night well east of North Carolina. The system is now moving away from the U.S. East Coast, posing no land threat, but it signals a shift toward more frequent tropical development in the Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Henriette formed Monday in the Pacific Ocean, the National Hurricane Center said. Henriette was centered 895 miles (1,440 kilometers) southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula,

The tropics begin to wake up across the Atlantic to begin August with the first hurricane of the season remaining to be seen.
