Apple shares fell 3% Friday after President Donald Trump threatened the tech giant with a 25% tariff if it does not start producing iPhones in the U.S. — his latest salvo directly targeting a U.S. company over how it conducts its business.

Apple increased its exports of iPhones from India to the United States in April, with industry data showing a 76 percent increase compared to previous months. The jump came amid President Donald Trump's threats of a 25 percent tariff on iPhones made outside the U.

Trump has repeatedly called on Apple to move manufacturing to US from China, but the company shifted production for more than half its phones to India
